UNDER WORLD

A me UW è piaciuto abbastanza. Dall'altro, a parte l'impeccabile fattura, UW rinuncia a danze e storie d'amore.

RECENSIONI

The Hindu:
'One of the things that stand out in Underworld is its conversations. Now, this is not a positive comment, for conversations are not supposed to stand out, but gel in, without making us feel that the person on screen is delivering lines someone else has written. (...) It is almost as if normal conversations are impossible in their parallel world. (...) The central characters are mostly written in vague strokes, with only faint hints of their backgrounds. (...) After a moderately engaging first half, things go quickly downhill, as all the build-up for a face-off seems as hollow as the bombastic lines some of the characters mouth. Riding high on its style quotient, accentuated by an effective background score, Underworld does not have the substance to make it a memorable take on the world of crime. The heft is only in the dialogues, not in its material'.
S.R. Praveen, 05.11.19

Film Companion:
'It’s like the writers don’t believe in conversations. Everything must sound like a statement. (...) Individual scenes get far more importance than the screenplay, and this makes it extremely difficult to remain interested, when you’re already trying hard to keep up with a complicated plot. (...) The cat-and-mouse game the film transforms into feels like it will never end, and what’s worse is the ultraslow pacing the director has opted for. Fights scenes seem extremely generic and even the big reveal in the end is so poorly foreshadowed early on that it comes as no real shock or surprise. The visuals work well, and even the performances, especially that of Lal Jr., stand out in a film let down by its screenplay. In the film’s desperation to be cool, we’re left with a film with no real soul or substance'.
Vishal Menon, 09.11.19

Cinema Hindi: ***
Punto di forza: l'incredibile montaggio salva-film.
Punto debole: l'esile sceneggiatura, i dialoghi pomposi.

CURIOSITA'

U N D A

RECENSIONI

The Hindu:
'The director (...) goes on to deny the star (Mammootty) all those testosterone-driven dialogues and adulating camera angles, systematically sealing his way to the alpha male hall of fame. And in that process he treats the audience to an immensely realistic narrative, part satiric and part poignant. (...) The film has a very thin storyline, but the screenplay adds layers to it, elevating it to a brilliant and full-bodied narrative. The script in its contours holds a whole lot of subtlety, but there is no extravagant or larger-than-life attempt at entertaining or self-expression. The script penned by Khalid Rahman and Harshad weaves a vibe so fluid that you are easily sucked into its easy spontaneity. There is this delicate undercurrent of dread and foreboding, but it never punctures the film's air of lightness. Mammootty, supported by a terrific ensemble cast, is the major strength of the film. They make a microcosm of the larger picture of hierarchy and of pretence, insensitivity and discrimination. They come from a State so advanced and progressive compared to the rugged hinterland of Bastar, a fact that they are quite proud of. But below the veneer of all refinement and civility are deep chasms of caste and class, a point where all delusions of political correctness ends. Mani has no swag, he is an ordinary cop, unassertive and at times fragile. Mammootty brings in that elusive transparency to his role as he effortlessly glides from confusion to resolve and curiosity to compassion. In his portrayal of Mani, a character with subtlest curves and tones, Mammootty becomes both the dancer and the dance. And his graph moves hand-in-hand with all others including a perpetually sulking Jojo (Shine Tom Chacko) and Biju (Lukman) who struggles with his subaltern identity. While Prashant Pillai’s scoundscape adds a solid edge to the inherent drama, Sajith Purushan never allows his camera to luxuriate in an unfamiliar terrain and opts for telescoping the ground reality. Unda is a film that takes us far from all the tropes of mainstream, yet it hits the bullseye, fair and square'.
Navamy Sudhish, 15.06.19

Film Companion:
'The film, for the most part, subverts the machismo we know from the movies. (...) We watch men of inaction. (...) This is a movie about waiting for an unseen, unknown enemy to strike. We don’t see the enemy, either, except for a stray glimpse of two men beating up a villager. Otherwise, we keep hearing about Maoists from people, from the papers. Or we see an explosion and sense they are somewhere around. (...) Slowly, it becomes apparent that Unda is as much a movie about alienation. (...) It’s about land. It’s about our country’s obsession with caste and complexion. It’s about boys (at heart) overcoming their differences and becoming men. It’s about how the enemy can be someone who’s supposed to be on the side of the law. It’s about the question of how meaningful it is to endanger the lives of a few men for elections that are filled with corrupt practices. It’s about Mammootty, who looks past his numerous cop roles from the past and finds a tender new side to the man-in-khaki archetype. It’s about how to use a big star and yet not lose sight of a fine supporting cast. It’s about how life isn’t always fair. (...) Unda lacks (a) larger vision. It’s too content to be low-key, and after a while, there’s a sense of the screenplay being stuck in a loop'.

HOUSEFULL 4

Sceneggiatura scheletrica. Interpretazioni ed effetti speciali accettabili. Bobby Deol in gran forma.

Espediente idiota, scritto in modo agghiacciante.

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day: *
'This is a film about lost hair that eventually makes you want to tear your own off at some point. Not saying this because this is the worst shit you'll ever come across. Of course not. But it's just the way the filmmakers treat balding to be - a terribly uncommon disease, where you stand out so badly in the real world, that even a lecturer/professor in a college gets taunted by kids all day long. (...) Really? Think majority of my male teachers (in school/college) may have well been bald. Who frickin' cares? Can't even remember'.

CURIOSITA'

Well, because it started happening to me at such a young age, it was like a pianist losing his fingers. It almost felt like that to me, in those days. Till you really come to terms with it, and then it starts bothering you less. It's like, I suppose, waking up one morning and saying, "Oh shit, I can't read!" So it would affect you, right? Or you get up in the morning and your knees are paining, and the pain just won't go away. You take a Combiflam for pain relief, and you might realise you need a knee surgery at a very young age. And you might be a sportsperson, so it is heartbreaking. You might lose a year or two of your career. So, as I said, it is like a pianist losing his fingers. Because the way you look as an actor is very important. And especially this part (pointing to the face upwards). [Balding] at 19 or 20 is devastating. It can mentally like kill you. But, as I said, it is like anything else - someone needs glasses, someone needs something else... It's up to you, and what you are comfortable with doing [about it]. I think it did affect my self-confidence as a young actor - more than I'd like to admit, actually. Definitely".

CHHICHHORE

I dialoghi esilaranti.

I personaggi perdono credibilità.
Chhichhore alterna alti e bassi qualitativi.

* La sequenza iniziale dei gavettoni.
* I suggerimenti tattici dell'allenatore di kabaddi.
* La performance calcistica di Sexa, e quella di Mummy al carrom (Google vi spiegherà cos'è, sciagurati!).

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day:
'This film is literally all in its writing. Which isn't to suggest that the performers on screen (...) don't match up to the material. Oh, all of them do. They collectively shine, without doubt. (...) The story being told is so deeply universal that I can't imagine anyone not instantly relating to it. (...) Chhichhore is the sort of film that we can all add to, with our own versions of the same story - a user-generated series, if you like. (...) Why's this unique? Because I can't recall any Hindi mainstream movie, in the colour of its language (first-rate dialogues), and the tone of its very being, that's managed to capture what it's actually like to be on an Indian campus (...). It is, in that sense, polar-opposite to the wilful dumbf***ery of, say, Student Of The Year (SOTY), that had as little to do with India as a campus. For its time, Mansoor Khan's Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (JJWS) might appear close to this, but more so for a similar 'joy of life'.
Mayank Shekhar, 05.09.19

Film Companion:
'Indian college movies are made as weapons of mass distraction. They are fluffy and unrealistic and funny and aspirational - flush with melodramatic tropes of heroism and all-or-nothing competitions - because real college life is anything but dramatic. The Mohabbateins and Student of the Years and 3 Idiots of the world are designed as easy escapes from the country’s bleak academic culture. The darker the actual education system, the sillier the narrative tropes. These stories are simply told to make (student) life worth living. (...) The story is unrealistic and exaggerated. For instance, not one book or teacher is revealed. (Subtext: Life is our education). All we see are the ragtag occupants of a “losers” hostel trying to shed their tag by winning a two-month-long sports championship. But for once, this airy and inauthentic tone of a college movie - a very entertaining college movie - has a reason to belong. There is a lot at stake. Filmmakers usually assume their audiences to be (brain)dead and in need of resuscitation. Here, the listener is literally dying, and in need of psychological resuscitation. (...) Dangal director (and ex-IITian) Nitesh Tiwari, along with co-writers Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Mehrotra, locates a context to exercise his “good old days” tone on us. It’s a personal Mary-Poppins rendition of his own past... but it matters. It makes us laugh a little louder and cry a little softer - and be manipulated a little more willingly - because a family’s fate relies on the language of storytelling. The Main Hoon Na style swishes of parody (the 40:1 boy-to-girl ratio in engineering; hero’s friends segregated into categories - porn addict, alcoholic, guttermouth, mommy’s boy, chainsmoker stud; the filmy villain; the cartoon-level team tryouts) belong in this movie. The slow-motion climax, points tables and backroom meltdowns - they belong here. These stereotypes acquire a sense of gravitas. (...) The supporting cast is excellent. (...) Naveen Polishetty, in particular, stands out as Acid. (...) Thanks to this gang, Chhichhore is a hoot, but it’s not flawless. (...) The adults tend to discuss things not as friends, but as movie characters who want to educate the audience. (...) Sushant Singh Rajput gives a typically sincere performance. (...) Eventually though, it’s Tiwari’s understanding of mainstream emotional dynamics that tide the missteps over to frame an enjoyable film. He directs sports better than his contemporaries'.

DREAM GIRL

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day: ***
'It is only a torrential rain of laughs in the theatre that critic-proofs a film like this for its audiences. This is a non-stop gag-fest. And all that you need to know is if the gags being thrown at you at the speed of light, hits your brains, or bounces off the skull. Happy to note, most jokes, in varying levels of coolness and crassness, land. You instantly crack up - going through a series of corny characters, situations, and a fairly slapstick sort of massy humour. You laugh, no? Yes. That said; frankly, anything I'm gonna say after this amounts to taking oneself too seriously. Because the movie so doesn't. (...) Ayushmann Khurana, of course, plays Karam, plus Puja - totally killing it as both. (...) Now should we think about the finesse of filmmaking here (there's very little of it), or gags overstaying their welcome (some of them do), or the political correctness of some of these small-town (...) gags... Should we think, about? Don't. Seriously, don't'.
Mayank Shekhar, 16.09.19

Film Companion:
'Dream Girl is, at its best, a malnourished tribute to Vicky Donor. (...) The ensemble cast is terrific and the one-liners (...) creative. The job is used as a device to access - and parody - various sections of society. At its worst, DG is an endless sequence of cultural-appropriation gags that passes off male horniness as Indian loneliness. It sugarcoats the rawness of male desire to present a loud “family-friendly” take on what might have otherwise made for a reflective story. (...) The mistaken-identity motif becomes repetitive after a while. (...) Unlike other Khurrana films, even the ‘social’ is forced into the social comedy. The feeble attempts to humanize Pooja’s profession are punctuated by an unnecessary villain and the lead actor’s penchant for token speeches. (...) His (Khurrana) angsty comic timing is infinitely better than Hindi cinema’s idea of commercial (sex, slapstick, small-town) comedy. His quirky social posturing is infinitely better than Akshay Kumar or John Abraham’s idea of national service - it addresses smaller-than-life everyday issues rather than larger-than-life cultural shortcomings. But Khurrana is now so synonymous with his own custom-made genre that, as tough as it sounds, his talent has started to feel a bit monotonous'.

JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA

Kangna Ranaut, in forma smagliante, seduce. In alcune sequenze brilla. Rajkummar Rao è solido e fascinoso come sempre.

TRAMA

RECENSIONI

Hindustan Times: ****
'Judgementall Hai Kya (...) looks like a slick, snappy comedy but there is much more to this smart, significant satire. This is a film about gaslighting, the relentless psychological manipulation intended to discredit people in order to nullify their version of events. It is about insensitively and eagerly labelling a condition, instead of offering empathy. It is about trying to ‘handle,’ not help. The treatment is delicious. (...) Nothing in this layered film seems like an accident. (...) (Pankaj) Kumar, one of the finest directors of photography working today (...) has wonky and subversive fun as he plays up Bobby’s oversaturated world, and tinkers with frame-rate and contrast to depict her (and possibly our) mental states. (...) Rajkummar Rao plays Keshav with a placid smugness while the camera - taking on Bobby’s female-gaze - takes turns objectifying him and stepping away. He’s a calm man of few words, but the gifted actor makes dryness appear nasty. (...) The narrative twists and coincidences are ambitious, and Kovelamudi weaves them together deftly, working the film both as thriller and allegory as the pace only intensifies. JHK has a lot to say, and not only via smart lines, though those are pointedly sharp. (...) (Kangna) really is extraordinary. This is a finely acted film, with superb performances from Amrita Puri, Satish Kaushik and Jimmy Sheirgill, not to mention Rao, but it rests entirely on Ranaut’s shoulders and she delivers both vitality and credibility. Bobby may be over the top but hers is a precisely calibrated performance, and Ranaut - not least because of the battles of perception she faces off-screen - is ideal for the part. (...) JHK loses whizz in the final stretch, trying hard to keep audiences guessing even when the climax is apparent, and the makers could instead have concentrated on subtext. The investigative epiphanies also feel too simplistic compared to the messaging of the narrative and the film’s overall intelligence'.
Raja Sen, 29.07.19

Film Companion:
'It’s a miracle Judgementall Hai Kya exists in cinemas today. It’s daring and disruptive and inventive and campy and impossible to understand - the audiovisual manifestation of a nightmare. Much like Bobby. The soundscape is hers. (...) The visual mindscape is hers'.

* Riferimenti a Bollywood: la celebre canzone Duniya Mein Logon Ko, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan.
* Riferimenti all'Italia: Gucci, Armani.

GOSSIP & VELENI

RECENSIONI

The Hindu:
'The inter-religious love story seems as forced as the fan fights in the film. (...) The only take away for football fans, if any, is a chance to recollect some of their personal memories associated with these world cups. Otherwise, there are no edge-of-the-seat moments, expected of such films. The makers should have known that endless stock footage of fan celebrations cannot manufacture excitement on screen'.
S.R. Praveen, 24.03.19
Film Companion: ** 1/2
'The film is full of predictable moments. (...) The humour track trivialises an otherwise sensitive and interesting subject. Malayalam cinema must think of new ways of handling comedy. Burdening the sidekick with the task of entertaining the audience gets too tedious. Instead, if the director could let the situation talk for humour to develop organically, we will be spared of some jarring, unoriginal moments. (...) It is refreshing to see a different kind of a heroine. Mehru is independent, well-read and has a strong political consciousness. She is at the forefront of the fan fights and does not buckle down in front of men. However, the film remains largely about the hero’s journey. The heroine is just a motif to realise it. (...) In AFK too, you can sense the Kaattoorkadavu locality through the diction, references to institutions like Koodalmanikyam Temple and the tension in the society about inter-caste marriages. Instead of tapping into these sensitive elements, the film chooses to treat them superficially to just entertain the audience with a series of “funny” one-liners, wedding songs and nostalgia-evoking scenes from the FIFA tournaments. It would have been a lovely venture if the filmmaker realised it takes more than the footage of football matches and fan frenzy to make a moving film themed on football and how it impacts ordinary lives'.

GANTUMOOTE

I personaggi realistici.

I film scandiscono tappe fondamentali.

Gantumoote va assaporato in rispettoso silenzio.

TRAMA

Primi anni novanta.

RECENSIONI

Deccan Herald:
'Director Roopa Rao’s treatment is simple and sensitive and often humorous. Gantumoote moves at the leisurely pace of nostalgia. (...) Even within the love story, it is Meera’s journey that the camera follows. An incident the movie handles expertly is Meera getting bullied. (...) In a subtle way, the film shows her realising she is the hero. (...) The film embraces its silences, many times cutting out the background score for ambient sound. This gives an immersive effect, and we are able to feel what Meera is feeling because we hear what she is hearing. The screenplay is carefully crafted, with enough time devoted for Meera to make sense of everything happening around her. It never gets too heavy, with jokes flowing through the script seamlessly, and getting laughs that don’t feel forced. Teju steals the spotlight and rightly so. If you are unfamiliar with her, it is hard to believe she isn’t a teenager. Even with a simple glance, she manages to convey complex emotions. Nishchith also does justice as a slightly adrift, charming love interest. His character never upstages Meera, but commands attention on his own'.
Theres Sudeep, 22.10.19

Film Companion:
'Every step of the way, the director cues us in to the very intense way Meera thinks and feels about things. (...) Soon, we sense a strong female gaze. (...) I can’t recall another film describe how love can manifest itself physically in a girl. We’ve always heard of the heart beating faster, but here, Meera talks of sweaty armpits and vomiting and loose motions - all the churn that hormones bring about. And yet, despite this amazingly female gaze, this isn’t a feminist film. It’s just a film about a girl, made by a woman who has probably been that girl. Roopa’s only “cause” is Meera. (...) Meera just wants to be herself. (...) The lines move easily between Kannada and English - the urbanness is unforced. Nothing, in fact, is forced. (...) Roopa Rao manages something very difficult. She holds a series of moods throughout, and the places she chooses to linger on are unusual. She is more interested in character than event, and she practically holds up an X-ray of Meera’s soul. Her framing is unfussy, and yet, there’s quiet beauty in the images. (...) The entire cast is superb, but Teju holds it all together. She doesn’t overdo the sensitivity. Her insides are always flickering with feelings, and her face says a lot despite showing very little. In a way, this beautiful film feels almost like a betrayal of Meera, who wants to keep everything inside her'.

The tagline of the film, the hyphenated ‘bag-age’ is a pun on this. The formative years of high school play a very significant role in shaping an individual’s personality. It sets the tone for the rest of one’s life. This film portrays that phase of one’s life when one carries all the baggage along. We don’t realise that we have accumulated so much baggage till it becomes too much to bear. These emotions, accumulated over the years, is figuratively called ‘Gantumoote’'.

RASSEGNA STAMPA (aggiornata al 22 aprile 2020)

* Roopa Rao's Gantumoote: Is this the dawn of a new era in Kannada cinema?, Basav Biradar, Film Companion, 22 aprile 2020: '[Roopa] Rao unabashedly turns on the female gaze in this coming-of-age drama and delivers a memorable film. (...) Rao's treatment does not resort to titillating song sequences and sexual innuendos and, instead, lends sensuality and poetry to a sensitive love story. (...) Rao's sensitive and, at times, poetic screenplay takes us into the mind of a 16-year-old middle-class girl like never before and lets us experience her world. (...) With Gantumoote, Roopa Rao has also joined the group of independent filmmakers. But, hers is probably the most authentic, rooted voice. She does not allow herself any easy choices. There are no overly dramatic and strict parents or any needless demonising of teachers. (...) Gantumoote should be seen as a milestone in Kannada cinema, a film that will hopefully change the way stories of young women will be told. Also, Rao is the latest and an important addition to the very short list of women filmmakers in the history of Kannada cinema; this should inspire more women filmmakers and more women-driven narratives'.

LAAL KAPTAAN

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day: **
'Frankly, there's far more to this film than for it to be looked at simply centred on its star (Saif Ali Khan), who's stunning, no doubt. Or the rating, that by virtue of it being vaguely indicative, becomes reductive, anyway. What we effectively experience here is a valiant attempt at merging the East, with the Western. (...) There are way too many scenes to the point that it begins to feel like a stretch, and you merely hope for the movie to get to the point'.
Mayank Shekhar, 18.10.19

Film Companion:
'Laal Kaptaan is a boring and self-absorbed period drama - one that is so obsessed with historical detailing, eccentric characters, bare physicality and country-style pace that it forgets to be narratively and humanely absorbing. It just looks like a whole lot of work for nothing. (...) The problem with LK and its semi-loaded political subtext is that its narrative contrivances are dreadfully basic'.

THE ZOYA FACTOR

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day: **
'Sure, there are moments, and several of them work here. But there's already an issue if the cricket commentators in the movie have infinitely funnier lines that ones spoken between characters. At some point this combined green-screen mess begins to grate on your nerves. (...) Zoya Factor is pure chick-lit. Maybe it doesn't quite target me as a core audience. Possible. Movies, like team-sport, relying on multiple variables, eventually needs a whole lot of luck to sail through, and reach where it must. We wish this the best, of course. They'll need it'.
Mayank Shekhar, 20.09.19

Film Companion:
'The only way (Sonam Kapoor) can be the girl next door is if the house next door were a mansion with a walk-in wardrobe. (...) Sharma strangely focuses on parodying this concept (of cricket superstitions) - the horribly simulated cricket matches, the tacky ad films within the film (The Last Supper riff is admittedly smart), the comedy-circus-style commentary - instead of humanizing it'.

ARTICLE 15

Ama i cani.

Ayan è vicino a noi. Apriamo gli occhi insieme a lui. Condividiamo ignoranza e raccapriccio.

RECENSIONI

Hindustan Times: **** 1/2
'It is a grim, unrelenting and essential film, one throwing up truths we choose to forget. (...) Written by Gaurav Solanki and Sinha, the film has the stench of honesty. It is hauntingly shot by Ewan Mulligan. (...) Ayushmann Khurrana plays Ranjan with inevitable entitlement. (...) Khurrana is spot-on, consistently harrowed and, building on the everyman baggage of his earlier films, immensely relatable. He eschews showiness to stay true to the part, a protagonist who is aware he will be looked on as an upper-caste saviour, aware that it isn’t his role. Sinha surrounds him with a superb ensemble. Manoj Pahwa is frighteningly good as a higher-caste cop. (...) The mercurial Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub plays a revolutionary, a rebel who can’t afford to lose hope because he has become a face of it. He gets the film’s most memorable lines, achingly confessing how he has been so romanticised that he is left without romance. With the horrors around, it felt criminal for him to smile at a girl he loves. In the land that allows Us and Them, all pleasure feels guilty. What do you do when the system is the bad guy? There are no revelations here. We’ve read about such cases, we’ve sighed about these horrors. Article 15 is not a film in search of easy answers. It is instead a reminder that we already know the questions, but don’t ask them enough'.

Film Companion:
'To understand why Article 15 is such a remarkable film, it’s important to understand its protagonist first. It’s important to understand who he is. (...) In short, Ayan is us. He is our eyes and ears. He is uninformed, in a uniform. (...) The strength of Article 15, therefore, lies in how it internalizes Ayan’s gaze, his perspective, to reflect its own physicality. (...) The camerawork is deliberately atmospheric, to frame the sort of noirish imagery that fits someone like Ayan’s perception of a hostile new land. (...) The more he learns, the lesser the film becomes about him'.

Cinema Hindi: *****
Punto di forza: ottima sceneggiatura, ottima regia, dialoghi curatissimi, un eccezionale eroe negativo, stellare interpretazione di Manoj Pahwa, fotografia sublime, niente melodramma.
Punto debole: qualche incongruenza, del tutto veniale.

RASSEGNA STAMPA

* The caste blindness of Bollywood NRI genre films, Dr. Vikrant Kishore, Senses of Cinema, maggio 2022: 'Many found Ayan, the Brahmin protagonist in Article 15, represented a “white saviour” complex. In an interview with the film critic Anupama Chopra, Ayushmann Khurrana (...) tried to justify the Brahmin character, “in Article 15, there has to be a Brahmin or a so-called upper caste who is fighting for the Dalits or the reserved category. He is the one who is leading by example. It is obvious that the downtrodden will fight for themselves, but in our country, you need to have that ‘hero’ who can fight for them”. In Khurrana’s defence, he does talk at length about caste discrimination, and how no one wants to talk about it; he goes on to say, “it is like a social responsibility as an artist, you should do a film like this.” Chopra further questions, why do you think Hindi cinema has chosen to be caste blind? Khurrana responds, “It is not just Hindi cinema, we are also caste blind, especially in urban India, (...) but in rural India it is so rampant, it is crazy! ...the so-called upper caste thinks that nothing like [casteism] is there, it doesn’t exist, we’ve blinders on, but it does exist everywhere”. It is rare for any Hindi film star to say something like this in recent times and acknowledge the inherent casteism. (...) Khurrana feels that any film should have an intriguing value so that people are interested in watching a film that is entertainment at the same time. The sanitisation of caste into a rich-poor binary has been easy for Bollywood to handle and wash their hands of challenging discussions vis-à-vis caste. Khurrana finds this approach of Bollywood is nothing but “playing safe for commercial gains”. But what I find problematic is when Chopra asks Khurrana regarding the Savarna [casta alta] gaze of the film, he initially respond to it by saying, “the film is being made by a sensitised and aware citizen, who inspires the upper castes to end discrimination”. Unfortunately, Khurrana gets defensive and blames the critics for “reverse casteism”; both Chopra and Khurrana laugh it off and move to the next question nonchalantly. On one hand Khurrana talks about the problems faced by one of his college mates due to reservation and casteism, on the other hand, he declares, Bollywood is a secular space where there is no casteism, and scoffs, “there is no reservation either”.'

CURIOSITA'

GOSSIP & VELENI

Inconcepibile.
