CHHICHHORE

I dialoghi esilaranti.

I personaggi perdono credibilità.
Chhichhore alterna alti e bassi qualitativi.

* La sequenza iniziale dei gavettoni.
* I suggerimenti tattici dell'allenatore di kabaddi.
* La performance calcistica di Sexa, e quella di Mummy al carrom (Google vi spiegherà cos'è, sciagurati!).

RECENSIONI

Mid-Day:
'This film is literally all in its writing. Which isn't to suggest that the performers on screen (...) don't match up to the material. Oh, all of them do. They collectively shine, without doubt. (...) The story being told is so deeply universal that I can't imagine anyone not instantly relating to it. (...) Chhichhore is the sort of film that we can all add to, with our own versions of the same story - a user-generated series, if you like. (...) Why's this unique? Because I can't recall any Hindi mainstream movie, in the colour of its language (first-rate dialogues), and the tone of its very being, that's managed to capture what it's actually like to be on an Indian campus (...). It is, in that sense, polar-opposite to the wilful dumbf***ery of, say, Student Of The Year (SOTY), that had as little to do with India as a campus. For its time, Mansoor Khan's Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (JJWS) might appear close to this, but more so for a similar 'joy of life'.

Film Companion:
'Indian college movies are made as weapons of mass distraction. They are fluffy and unrealistic and funny and aspirational - flush with melodramatic tropes of heroism and all-or-nothing competitions - because real college life is anything but dramatic. The Mohabbateins and Student of the Years and 3 Idiots of the world are designed as easy escapes from the country’s bleak academic culture. The darker the actual education system, the sillier the narrative tropes. These stories are simply told to make (student) life worth living. (...) The story is unrealistic and exaggerated. For instance, not one book or teacher is revealed. (Subtext: Life is our education). All we see are the ragtag occupants of a “losers” hostel trying to shed their tag by winning a two-month-long sports championship. But for once, this airy and inauthentic tone of a college movie - a very entertaining college movie - has a reason to belong. There is a lot at stake. Filmmakers usually assume their audiences to be (brain)dead and in need of resuscitation. Here, the listener is literally dying, and in need of psychological resuscitation. (...) Dangal director (and ex-IITian) Nitesh Tiwari, along with co-writers Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Mehrotra, locates a context to exercise his “good old days” tone on us. It’s a personal Mary-Poppins rendition of his own past... but it matters. It makes us laugh a little louder and cry a little softer - and be manipulated a little more willingly - because a family’s fate relies on the language of storytelling. The Main Hoon Na style swishes of parody (the 40:1 boy-to-girl ratio in engineering; hero’s friends segregated into categories - porn addict, alcoholic, guttermouth, mommy’s boy, chainsmoker stud; the filmy villain; the cartoon-level team tryouts) belong in this movie. The slow-motion climax, points tables and backroom meltdowns - they belong here. These stereotypes acquire a sense of gravitas. (...) The supporting cast is excellent. (...) Naveen Polishetty, in particular, stands out as Acid. (...) Thanks to this gang, Chhichhore is a hoot, but it’s not flawless. (...) The adults tend to discuss things not as friends, but as movie characters who want to educate the audience. (...) Sushant Singh Rajput gives a typically sincere performance. (...) Eventually though, it’s Tiwari’s understanding of mainstream emotional dynamics that tide the missteps over to frame an enjoyable film. He directs sports better than his contemporaries'.

P K

Con questo film non mi raccapezzo. Cambio idea ogni due minuti. E' geniale? Una cazzata colossale? Boh.

3. I personaggi.

E poi: esisteranno anche alieni buffi, no?

Come concludere?

E ricordatevelo bene domattina, davanti allo specchio, prima di decidere cosa mettervi: "Faith is connected to fashion".

RECENSIONI

Rediff: ****
"The fact remains that PK is a ridiculously effective film, a triumph you are likely to walk away from with a gladder, lighter heart - and, perhaps, a moister handkerchief. (...) It's all cinematic saccharine, but then, given that Hirani takes the opportunity to aim some potshots at organised religion and its gatekeepers, is the familiar a worthy method to sneak in a message? A spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down? (...) Aamir Khan is exceptional in PK, creating an irresistibly goofy character and playing him with absolute conviction. He laughs at his goblin-ears and walks around with his eyes on high-beam throughout the film, but his transformation isn't restricted to the physical. (...) This is an out-and-out Aamir film, and he soars. PK is no satire - it's a bit too toothless for that - but it is a rollicking mainstream entertainer with ambition to evoke some introspection, one with compelling moments and some genuine surprises".
Raja Sen, 19.12.14

Mayank Shekhar: ***
"Aamir Khan playing an alien PK is absolutely the finest thing about this movie. (...) In an obvious sort of way, this is also Aamir’s best performance yet. For one, his role has absolutely no reference points. (...) For the most part, he seems like a rather original and funny fellow: a short, slim weirdo with overstretched ears, lips red with betel juice, and eyelids that rarely blink. The film essentially works when he’s on screen. (...) PK himself is not the central focus of this film. This is not a sci-fi fantasy. The alien is only used as a device to make a point about humans in general. The reason for this is both simple and profound. Only someone equally distant and detached from this world might be able to objectively question how completely lunatic it is in the first place. Here we’re talking about religion. And you know just as well that humans just can’t talk about religion. It is not seen as an idea anymore. Religion has somehow got mixed up with race. (...) In that sense this hardcore mainstream Bollywood film aiming to set all-time records at the box-office that openly reveals and laughs at ridiculous ways in which humans kill, divide and dupe each other over religions that are basically companies with managers - whether Hinduism, Islam or any other - is laudable to start with. I hope it is watched and more importantly pondered over by masses across India and the sub-continent. (...) It’s also a Rajkumar Hirani movie almost all the way. I say almost, because unlike with his previous films, this script isn’t as sharp and seamless".
2014

* Leggete un po' qui: 'Director Rajkumar Hirani’s plans to finish shooting the first schedule of his next, PK, in Italy, have come to an abrupt halt. (...) He had reportedly said, “This portion I shall shoot in Italy with Anushka. Aamir will join us in December.” But now, news is that PK’s October schedule has been pushed forward altogether due to “weather issues” in Italy. “The climatic conditions have changed a lot. The days have become shorter. The sun comes out only around 12.30 pm and light begins to fade by 7 pm. And to top that, it is very cold. We won’t be able to shoot at length in such conditions,” informs an insider. As a result, the Italy schedule has been pushed even further. “We will shoot that portion after everything else is wrapped up by the middle of 2013 (...).” adds the source. (...) Besides Anushka, TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput is also part of the schedule that is to be shot in Italy'. Bad weather stalls shoot of PK, Prashant Singh, Hindustan Times, 8 ottobre 2012.
* Riferimenti a Bollywood: Amitabh Bachchan (semplice, perchè Lui è DIO).

GOSSIP & VELENI
